After her father's death, Catherine Bomarzini arrived in Italy at the family castle, where her friend Gina lived for work as a restorer. The two girls attend a show by a traveling troupe of artists. Gina convinces Catherine to invite the entire group to the castle to celebrate. After that evening, Catherine begins to have a vision of a woman killed there and falls into the web of a mysterious love triangle with a man who is sometimes repulsive, other times enchanting, and with a creature of the night who reveals his infinite love and devotion for the girl.
